Tete-a-tete with R Madhavan on Big Money
You may not be able to see Sarita Birje on the TV, but R Madhavan has returned to the TV to host a game show titled Big Money on Imagine TV in which each family will answer questions based on TV content and vie for a Rs 1 crore cash price. Here are the excerpts:
You hosted another game show Deal Ya No Deal five years ago. What's different about Big Money?
The concept is different. They have the entire family playing together so you get to see family feuds live on TV. That apart, the game is based on what you watch on TV and that's become such a fad in our country.
Have you ever won a lottery or game show?
The only thing I have ever won was a water bottle at a school competition. But I have won a lot of scholarships, NCC awards, and even a national level public speaking contest.
Any game show you've been addicted to?
I used to watch Tol Mol Ke Bol on Zee TV. Rituraj was hosting it before me so I was quite addicted to it. But Siddharth Basu's Quiz Time on DD was my prime-time addiction.
Your fave TV host?
Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. It's very difficult to make a show interesting by just sitting in one place. Mr Bachchan is able to create drama on that little table with just his voice.
What's next?
I have just finished my next Hindi film Tanu Weds Manu with Kangna Ranaut. We shot in Kapurthala and I tried my best to maintain a diet but those Punjabi parathas always got in the way. Next up is a Tamil film Manmadhan Ambu with Kamal Haasan and Trisha which we will start shooting in Monte Carlo from July.
